Sun Country Amateur Golf Association Scholarship
Scholarship Sponsored by Sun Country Golf Foundation
Introduction and History
Founded in 1984 by Mr. and Mrs. Max Webb, the SCAGA Scholarship Fund was created to honor the memory of Dwight Teed, who served as an original member of the Sun Country Board of Directors. For more than twenty years the fund has supported deserving students. At present, the program awards four scholarships of $1,500 each to applicants who demonstrate strong academic achievement, good citizenship, a connection to the game of golf, financial need, and excellent recommendations.
Purpose and Funding
The scholarship is not awarded based on golfing skill; rather, it recognizes overall excellence and encourages recipients to remain engaged in their education and with the sport of golf. Roughly half of the scholarship money originates from the Dwight Teed gift accounts, with the remainder raised through tournament sponsorships and individual donations. Contributions to the fund are welcome and help support future students.
