Introduction
These awards are the Enlisted Association of the New Mexico National Guard’s longstanding scholarships, supported by our association sponsors. Each year USAA contributes $1,000 to the program. Typically the Association grants three $1,000 scholarships annually, though additional awards or larger amounts may be considered depending on applicant volume.
Eligibility
- The applicant or the applicant’s sponsor MUST be a New Mexico Guardsperson (active or retired) or a dependent of a New Mexico Guardsperson.
- The applicant or sponsor MUST be a paid member of the Enlisted Association.
- Applicants must be enrolling in a college, university, or vocational/technical school within the same year the scholarship is awarded.
- Academic standing should be at least a C average (no less than a C).
- The Association prefers to target the program toward the average student rather than the exceptionally gifted and emphasizes professional, technical, or vocational fields of study.
Required Documents (All applications must include)
1. A copy of the applicant’s current official school transcript or other official documentation showing the student’s academic average. Official transcripts may be:
- mailed to the Scholarship Chairperson at the address below,
- uploaded with the application via the EANMNG website, or
- emailed to admin@eanmng.org.
2. A personal letter from the applicant explaining their desire to continue education and, if applicable, why financial assistance is needed.
3. Three letters of recommendation are strongly encouraged. Recommended sources include a minister, teacher, community leader, principal, dean, counselor, or similar reputable references.
Submission Procedures and Award Conditions
- Deadline: All applications must be received by 17 March 2026 and addressed to the Scholarship Chairperson.
- Submission methods: Applications may be submitted online through the EANMNG website or mailed to:

- Disbursement: After the applicant’s enrollment is verified, the scholarship payment will be issued to either the educational institution or the individual, as appropriate.
- Unclaimed awards: If a scholarship is not claimed within the year it is awarded, it will be revoked and the funds will return to the scholarship fund.
- Notification: All applicants will be informed whether they have been selected to receive an award.
