About the Scholarship Program
The Coral Gables Community Foundation works with its fundholders to both administer a variety of generous scholarships and oversee the Foundation’s own scholarship funds. Over the past ten years, the Foundation and its fundholders have awarded more than $6.7 million in scholarship support.
Most of the scholarships available through the Foundation are awarded on the basis of academic achievement and financial need. Depending on the individual fund’s rules, awards are offered as either single-year grants or renewable multi-year scholarships. Each scholarship has its own eligibility and selection criteria, which are posted on the Foundation’s website; applicants are encouraged to review those descriptions carefully when preparing their materials.
Contributors
The Foundation gratefully acknowledges the support of The Stamps Foundation, The Kirk Foundation, The Batchelor Foundation, the Cocoplum Woman’s Club, and two anonymous donors for their role in building the Scholarship Fund that supports the Coral Gables Community Foundation Four-Year Scholarship. Additional scholarship funding is provided by Merrick Society members and by patrons of the Gables Gala, Wine Auction, and Tour of Kitchens.
Scholarships for High School Seniors
The Foundation manages a portfolio of more than twenty distinct scholarships for graduating high school seniors. Several awards are intended to support study in specific areas—examples include Law, Medicine, Nursing, Golf, Soccer, Journalism, Leadership, and Historic Preservation—among others. Award amounts for 2026 range from $1,000 to $20,000.
Eligibility (brief)
Eligibility requirements differ by scholarship. Many opportunities are aimed at graduating high school students, while some target particular fields of study or other criteria.
